The well know formula for dizzy is D = k*ω² where k is the coefficient of dizzy and ω is the angular velocity in radians/sec. Since it is a squared term, the direction doesn't matter, but caution is noted: if you double the rotation speed, you will be 4 times as dizzy.......!

The dizzy effect is caused by the fluid in your inner ear, which helps regulate your balance, being pushed out by "centrifugal" force. Regardless of which way you spin, the fluid will move in such a way that your brain has trouble understanding what's going on, so you feel dizzy. You may notice figure skaters (who do lots of fast spinning) will look at one point and then snap their head around and stop and then snap their head around again for each spin while their body spins in a regular fashion below them. They also have very good balance to help counteract the effect.
