I agree with you.
Spiderman is ok because the guy they have kind of fits the part. He looks like a nerdy looking sissy boy who gets super powers.
Dunst on the other hand has the body to play mary jane, but her face? Come on!
She needs serious plastic surgery to look pretty enough to be mary jane. Mary jane is supposed to be the hottest chick in marvel comics.
Using dunst for that is an insult. She just isn't pretty enough.
Mary jane is also not a hard part to play, especially for a struggling actress type, its no stretch at all, basically thier real life and the story isn't to the point where she is supposed to be any real moral support for spiderman like they are today.
Get the girl with looks first and the rest will fall into place. Acting isn't hard anyway its not like this is theatre or a comedy where you actually need talent.

Not even. I think that Kirsten Dunst did an awesome job as Mary-Jane and Toby makes a perfect Peter Parker.

I believe Tobey is doing a great job. When I read the comic, it is like he is speaking the lines in my head. Kirsten on the other hand, yeah, she is annoying. Need to re-cast her, especially there are rumors that she wants to quit any way.

I think everyone is ready for a change. I was never comfortable with Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jone and would welcome Mandy Moore. I like her in her other stuff. There's just something about Dunst that I wouldn't think Peter Parker would be obsessed with.

Kristen Dunst never did it for me as MJ.
Just like that old hag Famke Jansen playing Jean Grey next to her MUCH younger co-star as Cyclops. YUCK!
They should have cast a natural red head like Alicia Witt or some other young actress.

I think Tobey and Kirsten are okay. What I'm worried about is Topher. I just can't see him playing Venom. Venom is scary and intimidating. Topher Grace is neither scary, nor intimidating. Topher should have stayed on that 70's show and they should have picked someone else to play my favorite spiderman villain.
