A long time ago Professional wrestling use to be real. But these matches would last hours. The truth is that people like the story that wrestling has to offer. Not just the storylines, but the match itself.

Pro Wrestling isn't fake, it's scripted, the fighting is planned, but the people are real. Take Mick Foley, was it fake when he fell from a 16ft high cage twice? The man is still suffering from injuries of that night. I love Pro Wrestling, it doesn't matter what company it is. And I like to watch UFC every now and again, but the way that UFC promotes their events is exactly the same as WWE. The fighters all trash talk each other, guess what? Pro Wrestlers trash talk too! I admit, WWE has gotten a lot softer since the days of Steve Austin & The Rock in the Attitude Era. But with guys like CM Punk today, it is still a big draw for a huge industry. I don't know why people have such a problem with Pro Wrestling. That's like people saying that it isn't cool to watch an action movie, because WWE is like an action/drama movie, except it's real life. The punishment that UFC fighters take, is astonishing and I respect anyone who has ever gotten into an octagon or ring to fight. But what about Pro Wrestlers who leaves the business after 20 years and have neck & back & knee issues for the rest of their life. People need to stop comparing the two because the action is nothing like one another, UFC is a legitimate sports company. WWE is an ENTERTAINMENT company. That's like calling movies fake because every fighting scene in every action movie is choreographed and scripted and planned. WWE is more fun to watch, more happens. That's my opinion.

Unfortunately I believe some watch wwe over UFC because of the fact that the storylines keep going from week to week and they can't wait several months for real fueds. Plus the wwe shows are more up to date. Until there is a PPV or Live show on TV the UFC shows are all about the past fights.
I am trying to be objective here since I am a fan of both. The wwe is more fan-based and fan-oriented, however, the UFC and PRIDE and K-1 are more for those who truly appreciate the complete aspect of an MMA fighters life (training, diet, history etc)

I think some people watch professional cause they can't deal with the reality. I think people who watch UFC is because in some way they probably started out with high school , college or Olympic wrestling or martial arts. But if you really love wrestling you don't need a story line to watch ... that's just for entertainment. I do like the new Real pro wrestling it's real wrestling and the story line is ..... being the Champion !!!

I have thought too why and it´s because the WWE as it´s name says is much more entertaining than the UFC I bet you that people prefer watching a dude flying and hitting himself on a lather than 2 guys that are 10 minutes on the ground trying to submit the other some, ignorant people that go to the arenas or watch WWE doesn´t know that is acted but is much more entertaining also the WWE is much more popular or famous in the world and had existed long time ago with figures like Hulk Hogan or Steve Austin.

I've been watching wrestling since the early 80s... but I've also been a martial arts fan and student since then as well- I watch both wrestling and UFC.
The difference is simply this: wrestling fans aren't watching WWE or TNA because they want to see real fighting. In the proper perspective, watching a wrestling show is watching a "soap opera" that happens to be about wrestling. They have actors, they have scripts, they do physical stunts. Is it "real", no... just as every action and martial arts show and movie that comes out isn't real either. Wrestling is sports entertainment, not a pure sport. Doesn't mean a sport fan can't like both.

The reason I watch WWE is because its entertaining and has exciting matches. In contrast UFC is real which can make it boring to watch at times. All you see are punches and guys laying on floor holding each other in submissions for which feels like hours. Thats why in UFC they only ever promote their main events because thats all people want to see. When watching UFC u no all the matches are gonna be similar. In UFC I only want Chuck Lidell matches sometimes.

Why do you and everyone else make the baseless assumption that people who watch wrestling don't watch UFC or PRIDE or whatever, and why do you keep telling us what to watch? I watch what I want and FYI, I do watch UFC. It is possible to be a fan of both the WWE and the UFC, but, simply put, what entertains me may not entertain you.

I'm so glad you watch UFC--maybe you can get some balls and some cool. I see you like to jump on girls who answer in this category. That is a punkb**** thing to do, little man. So keep watching all those hours of wrestling and maybe one of these days you will get enough testosterone together to look yourself in the mirror and not feel ashamed for picking on girls.

It's the soap opera affect. Each week adds a new twist to various stroy lines which keeps people interested. I watch both but really the UFC is too pay per view oriented even though I prefer it since all of the interesting wrestlers are leaving or are gone allready.
