Would a dress for me and a suit for my date be too much or should I just go with a nice skirt?

For Frisson you can go as comfortable as you can, a nice skirt would be fine, once there you'll see most women are dressed with skirts, good appetite..☺

Dress for dining out in San Francisco runs the whole range. There are only 2 restaurants in the entire city that require jackets and don't permit jeans (The Ritz-Carlton and Masa's). What you choose to wear should reflect the event and the mood between you and your date. If you choose a dress and a suit, you won't be either alone or uncomfortable. If you and your date consider this a more casual dinner and wish to dress "nice" but informal, you should be comfortable as well. (just a part of what I LOVE about San Francisco)

I'd say a nice skirt with a simple shirt and some good shoes. Not too formal like a ballgown or anything but don't wear blue jeans.

Gentlemen wear coats and ties, ladies wear skirts & sweaters or dresses
I don't know what you would wear.
