I have already spent about 3500 on my daughter but I haven't gone out and picked up her new car yet. Can't wait to write the check for that one.

It think that $500 dollars is too much to spend on a kid at Christmas time. That is just going to spoil the child (especially if they are younger). If they're older then I see that you could spend a little bit more than $100 on each.

Actually, I'm glad you posted twice. The more I think about it the more I see what a bad idea it is to spend that much money on your kids at Christmas time - no matter how well-off you are!!
THINK CHARITY!! Have your children THINK CHARITY!! My four year old can pull a tag off a wish tree and help find a gift for a kid and then understand how important it is to help people who have nothing at Christmas time.
It's selfish and you're raising selfish children which ultimately, will impact us all because who's going to continue giving and giving and giving to your kids when they're out on their own?

We give the big ticket items at Christmas that some, perhaps, purchase during the year - like a computer for college or an iPOD or a camera, snow boots, a nice winter jacket (not all at once; just examples) and so it doesn't take much to reach the $500-plus category.

We spend $100 per kid NO MORE, we have good kids who get good grades, do their chores respect their elders etc. The same kids who donate old toys to charity every year. We have tried to teach our children that they can't have everything they want. By the looks of what other people spend ( Note I do not know any of you or your children and am not trying to be rude) it doesn't surprise me that I see kids having temper tantrums when they don't get their way or are told they can't buy a toy at the mall. i did have a year where I was lucky enough to buy all sorts of gifts for my kids and half of them went untouched and were donated still in boxes the following year.

I have 2 daughters ages 6 and 1, so I try not to spend more than $150 each. They have family members that spoil them, so I try not to go overboard. I get my oldest everything she asks for, she is a simple child and doesn't want everything she sees on TV.
I have another baby on the way, so money will be tight next year.

She's in elementary words 18 months previous, so about $20. some thing will bypass into her college mark downs fund. As she receives older, we will do the 'one significant present with some upload-ons' element our mom and father did for us (probably round $2 hundred in line with youngster each and each and every Christmas). I by no skill felt shorted, so i imagine it replaced into perfect. Now, extreme is this chick I used to artwork with that spends $5,000 on each and each and every of her 3 toddlers each and every 365 days! talk about spoiled brats! they are going to ought to marry wealthy even as they strengthen up, only to experience free.

Sounds like your kids are spoiled! My mother used to spend about $100 dollars each on my sister and I. And I usually spend about $150, prices have changed over the years. But $500 on each kid? I bet you'll give them cars when they get their licenses yeah? Don't be surprised when they expect you to buy everything for them.
