Been there done that. While hitchhiking in southern California in the 70,s. I found a wallet with cash and credit card,s (i did not count the cash ) the name and address where on the driver,s license. I found the address and returned it. The man was glade to have it back . He not only gave me a reward but took me to the county line and helped me on my way. The moral to this story? Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.

Depends on were I found it or if it had ID and if it did if I knew the person.....If I was in the middle of nowear id take the cash and leave the wallet (unless it was nice) If I was at a mall or something I would report it (and maaaayybeee take the cash =)
but if it was the wallet of someone I knew (who was a jerk) id be WAAAAY more evil than that..... im Quite nice AND careing BUT I do have an evil side (just like everyone else) pobodys nerfect as they say.... have a nice day...

ps.. I Found and returned more than one item to the proper owner befor but What I said here is just the evil side talkin because im not in that situation right now

Hmm, if you lost your wallet and it had your credit cards and $500 cash you have saved all year for presents, wouldnt you hope the person who found it would call you?

In situation such as this one, I always think "what if I were the one with the lost wallet" and I'd immediately return it. It actually happened to me once with my mortgage payment in my wallet and a VERY kind lady found it and returned it.

I would give it back to the owner, you never know ones situation giving it back he may then in return give you some of the money. Tis the season and you surely wouldnt want something like this to happen to you and not get your belongings back. So be kind and give it back.

I would return it to the owner, because, its not your right to spend the money inside of it reguardless if you found it or not, the $500 is someones hard-earned money, and since their are ways to identify the person, such as credits it should be possible to return it to the person, by contacting him.

i would give it back to the owner. think of how you would feel if it were your wallet? the money could have been from them just cashing their check and they really needed that money to take care of their kids or pay their rent etc.

Give it back. Or your free spirit won't be so free anymore, as you will feel guilty for stealing. And if you use the cards, you could go to jail.

Give it back to the person. Don't create bad karma for yourself, becuase it will hunt you down some day and it will be twice as bad.
