Acutally ins ome coutnries, the military commander can take over the country in a "military or security crisis". most of the time it is turned back of to the useless politcians in due time, but sometimes they keep the hold. that is when there is a problem.

I've never heard of anyone who staged a coup d'Ã©tat who didn't claim it was somehow legal. Of course it was illegal. Howevr they can make up a new law making it retrospectively legal, if they like.
