prelit christmas tree bulb life?

how long does a prelit tree last. This is the 3rd Christmas' and it just blew out

It lasted two more than it was designed to. Now, you either have to buy another prestrung ( if it were prelit, it would glow in the bos), or sting bulbs over the ones there. So sorry, Charlie, you just fell for another marketing scam. Merry Christmas.

Mine lasted one season, almost went out in about two weeks. I truly think the answer is, "Until you take it out of the box."
