Jennifer: Do I need to put my tmobile sims card in to unlock it? How do I go about unlocking it? Is there a good company you know of that does it?

If you have a cingular sim card, you will not need it anymore because you changed to T-Mobile, the t-mobile sim card could be put to the phone but make sure the phone has been unlocked because you won't be able to use it if it is locked for Cingular service only. Let me know if you have any more questions, i work with T-Mobile phones and unlocked phones at my job.

Additional:

No the TM sim card won't unlock the phone, you could go to a retail store in your area and request the phone unlocked, most likely they will charge you, don't go to a TM direct store because they wouldn't like the fact that you have a different carrier phone, unfotunately i don't have a place to recommend , do u live in New York? If so i could find out if any of our chain stores could do it. Take care...

You have to get the unlock code from cingular...and as long as you havent been canceled for mo`1re than 90 days. they will give it too you...just have your old phone number.. and the IMEI number from the back of the phone...it takes about 24 to 7 days...i used to work for tmo...
