I lost my Grandma 9 years ago and it still hurts. She was my best friend, my confidant, my sounding board and the one person in the world that I could always talk to. I wish I could tell you that things would get less painful...but it won't. You may think of her a little less often but every time you do the pain of the loss comes back. My condolences to you and I wish you well.

Loss through death is REALLY hard. I have no grandparents living anymore. I'm 43 and STILL think about them, the fond memories the great times together and wishing they were still here with me!
Our family is reall close. At least we have that "support system" when there's a death.
Support is VERY important when it comes to coping wth things, especially death. If you don't have someone in your family that you can go to, consider a support group in your local area.
There is no "time frame" for any one person's grieving. Everyone grieves differently and on their own time. You have to find YOUR way of deaing with the situation and doing what's best for you!
I'm so very sorry for your loss - please accept my prayers! Please take my advice, so that you can move on. You'll always have the special memories and one day, you'll join her!
I'm probably not much help, but at the very least, wanted to express my sorrow to you.

Yes...I have...I was 20 years old and it was probably the hardest thing that I have been through in my life. It has been 2 years and I still miss her every single day. Sometimes I dream about her which is so wonderful, but then waking up makes it hard once again knowing that she is not there.

I lost my Mawmaw a month ago. I think about her all the time and miss her so much. I remind myself that she is at peace, no longer has to ride in her wheelchair, doesn't have to mess with those dentures, she is walking around, looking beautiful and just waiting for the rest of her family.

It's always hard to lose someone - the best thing you can do is always talk about her & let her live on with you for the rest of your life. She wouldn't want you to be sad - so cheer up & go do something the two of you loved to do together - it will make you feel better.

lost mine many years ago - its hard I know
How about an outlet for all that unused affection. Maybe your church could set you up to help out one or some of the older people who could use someone to run errands for them or even just to check up on them once in a while ormaybe just go for a walk with them. Might help to have someone to care for.
