I met some men between the ages of 27 - 32 still living at home & receiving an allowance from their parents. I ran into them at a bar, they were very good looking men, seemed educated, and have decent jobs, yet were boasting about their allowance. When I asked them about their living arrangements, they saw nothing wrong with it & kept saying "would you turn away free money"?

I don't know what to make of this!

i'm so glad u have restraint because i would have laughed in their faces... thats ridiculous, its practically every kids dream to move out and believe me im 16 and i cant wait to get the hell out of home... seriously i would not be surprised if their parents still bath them and tuck them in at night...

How long had they had their good paying jobs? Had they recently graduated a college program and started working their jobs? Maybe they are saving up money so that when they do move out they can afford to rent a really nice place or even buy their own place.

Allowance? I would bet they are joking and just wanted to see your reaction...

Maybe they were joking about the whole thing and were just trying to see who they could get riled up that night....

I see nothing wrong with them living at home still but an allowance? Sounds like someone is still on the apron strings..
I can understand their parents helping them out and such but an allowance for an empoyed man makes me giggle a bit.
''turn away free money?'' No of course not, but it makes me wonder if he actually pays any bills at his home!

WoW! I don't know what to make of it. I wouldn't think they have very high morals though if the only reason they are still living with their parents is to take their money. I wouldn't want to date someone who is just so willing to get "free money" from their parents when they could be supporting themselves.

I hoped I helped and Good Luck figuring those guys out!

I think it depends on what you expect from them. If you just want to date and help spend their allowance etc. Than you both have an out from any serious relationship. It could also be a scam they use on potential gold diggers.Maybe they think you're a player or just want a one nighter with you.I would lean more towards players either way.People usually go to bars looking for something easy don't they? Why should they think you are any different? But even players might go to church also.

Looks and a job do not make them appealing to me ... you need to search for more mature and dependable, not to say independable men... no matter the age... good luck
