iran had no ties to 9/11.they have a fairly stable gov.and instead of using nuclear energy why dont them and the U.S develop more technologically advanced ways to supply energy ,like wind ,solar power etc. This would eliminate any threat of them building a nuclear weapon. If their are no direct talks with iran, just like n. korea ,do you think its gonna stop their production of nuclear energy or weapons?

We had direct talks with USSR even while they HAD nuclear weapons pointed directly at us. Currently many of those weapons are dismantled and are supplying electrical power to the USA. We should be working with Iran to improve our ability to generate power from nuclear sources.

In a perfect world I think your idea would have a good shot of working but it's not and the Bush Adminstration only makes it even more complicated but just like President Reagan's talks with what he called the "evil empire" (Soviet Union) our most hated enenmy at the time, talking to your enemies can do a LOT of good like Reagan getting the Soviets to cut their nuclear weapons aresenal in half because of his direct talks. No reason why this couldn't work with Iran so why not at least give it a try?

The C.I.A. only sees and hears what the white house wants it to see and hear. The main job of the C.I.A. is to give the white house 'plausible denialabity' if **** hits the fan.

Iran will never cooperate. First of all they are liars. Secondly, Bush is a liar. It would be a useless lie-fest.
