Not all pizza is round, but it make the boxes easier to stack piles of them together.

It is entirely due to the economics of making a round box, or rather the better economics of making square boxes.

Have you noticed that most everything comes in square boxes?

It's cheaper to make a square box. There are more lines, no curves. To produce a box, and alot of other things, it's easiest, and thus cheapest, to keep everything linear, and without curves. In the interest of saving money, pizza places use boxes.

it is easier to stack. and it is cheaper and easier to make a round box. not as much trimming to make. And what is wrong with a square box.

i guess square boxes are easier to come by, easier to make, cheaper, easier to assemble or easier to package. And probably because boxes are really square!
