outback steakhouse came to kevin barnes asking them if they could cover the song. he said yes...kinda makes you wonder what's going through his head.

Yeah I know what you mean... when I first heard that commercial for Outback Steakhouse I couldn't believe what I was hearing... I was thinking that that song is really similar to "Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games." After a few more listens I knew they were ripping off that song, I can't believe they gave them permission to use that song! Oh well though, money drives everyone.

I love Of montreal. I actually hate that so many commericals and bad clothing stores use a lot of indie bands music. Because then people who have no idea who they are and most likely wouldn't appreciate their music and running around singing their songs and going yea you know the sears commerical. The other day i saw the target commerical and the guy singing the song sounded like interpol but i wasnt sure and wasn't going to look just so i can be pissed off.

i am a huge fan, but i dont care that they are being heard. they are musicians, the whole idea is for people to hear them. realistically, they need to make money. its a job. but that doesnt change them musically. they are still talented, unique, and awesome, and always will be.

(bytheway, plenty of unknown bands go on late night, and dont get famous. nothing to worry about there!)

also, i would wayy rather hear them in a conmerical than all those crappy bands.

I doubt it. 99.999% of people still don't know who they are. Of course, they were on the OC soundtrack, so you might be on to something.
