OK...first of all...fashion sense seen in magazines or in person.???
Like how many of the people who answered have been to Japan? I have...and they don't dress like the magazine models, just as we don't dress like the girls in Vogue!!
Get a grip!!!
First of all....my daughter was stationed in Okinawa for 2 years. I visited her there for a week. I absolutely adore the Japanese people! They were soooooo polite, always smiling when you enter their businesses and HONEST.
You can literally leave a $100 bill laying in your windshield with the windows down and your money would never move...at least in Okinawa.
But.....fashion wise....my daughter warned me that they dress in bad 70's-80's clothes...and mess it up somehow.
Like some dude I saw at the Pineapple Factory...he had on cut offs (but they were white...uggghhh), Tight T-shirt (Ok maybe since he was slim thats allright), but he had on GIRL flip flops...I swear...everytime somethng was weird with those who were trying to imitate Western fashion.
Like Flair legged jeans with Convers sneakers. Or boots with shorts....get the picture???
But.....like I said....I LOVE the Japanese people. From the flight attendants and airport personell to the artist onthe street...first class all the way. And to see NO trash on the streets on an island with a population of 1,318,218. All I can say is WOW!

I think Japanese men are very very stylish in comparison to American men and oftentimes American women. They don't wear clothes that are too baggy. I dated a Japanese guy who had a pretty awesome style... even though he was not a nice guy. The Japanese women I've been friends with also have excellent style. Although I'm not a big fan of the whole Lolita look. The costumes are pretty, but I think lots of the time it makes women look too weak and like children. Overall, tho, I think the Japaneese are among the most fashionable cultures in the world...

the japanese fashion is awsome! alot of the japanese chicks fashion is so hot and sexy on them i wish i can move to japan

It's really cool you see people all over the world trying to emulate it all the time!!! All the cool trends start in Japan, only now are people starting to give credit eg. Gwen Stefani...

It's really unique in the sense that they try unusually nice combinations of apparel. It portrays their attitudes and character. I love it.

I really love it, they use all sorts of brilliant colors but at the same time they have this urban side to it I think it's great
