If there is garbage on the tv or on the radio, is there not a demand for it? More often than not, the news focuses on the bad and the shocking, but would people tune in to watch good news all day? If the news is biased one way or another, isn't that facilitated by its daily viewership? In light of this, is the media merely a reflection of society or is it its facilitor?

It's FINE to blame the media. Man, this is just one of my little annoyances, but I hate it when people are like "blah blahblah i hate illegal immigrants they ruin the country's economy", then you see an hour long program on VH1 about the millions of dollars celebrities make for just smiling during a friggin commercial or something simple like that. It's really pathetic. I like some parts of the media, I just really don't think people should make a couple hundred thousand dollars off it for doing almost nothing. Ugh..
