Day Trips: Amargosa Opera House, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, Death Valley, Red Rock Canyon

Las Vegas offer many tour packages which include Lake Mead cruises, helicopter rides, offroad touring in deep desert vehicles and hot air balloon rides. For those who don’t like the sun, there is even indoor sky diving and ice skating to name a few.

There are a lot of fun things for families to do. Lance Burton’s magic show, Wet’n Wild water park, roller coaster rides, mini racing cars are just a few favorites among kids and adults alike.

There is the new RedRock Hotel out in the Summerlin area that just opened this year. It is a beautiful property and more of a locals place.
Also, there is Mt. Charleston. You can go rent a cabin up there for a weekend, its beautiful.

Also, have you tried Lake Of Las Vegas?

Mt Charleston, Valley of Fire, Red Rock Canyon - all are within easy driving distance and offer a chance to get out and see something other than gaming.

Make sure to check out the conservatory at Bellagio. They decorate it for the seasons and the Chinese New Years. It is quite spectacular with laminar flow fountains and tons of flowers.

If you like Italian food, have dinner at Oyster Bay; its a small place, not famous, but well-loved among locals. The owner/chef is from Italy. Its just off the Strip, on Harmon Ave. I actually have the business card here... 702-794-2929.
