That is just the old blood. It is completly normal. Only time you should worry is when you spot a brown discharge when you havent had your period yet or it last for more the 2 to 3 days. It is a sign that there may be an infection; especially if it gives off a foul odor with it. So be sure to have your self checked for all STD's and have your anual pap smear.

It's just the last of your period. The natural discharge that comes out is brown because there's still some blood.

That is because your ovaries releasing the blood is slowing down the period, causing the blood flow to slow and some of it become old & not so fresh. So instead of fresh, bright red blood, you can have dark brown, old blood. All blood turns darker the longer it sits.

I go with llookbusy, she is right, it is old blood. simply that. Blood that has to come out at the end of your period, if you notice its smell it not like your regular period, it kind of stinks. Thank God I don't have it anymore. But the first answerer was correct.

ther e is only 1/4 cup of blood in ur period and it is mixed with skin from the uterus wall.
i guess when the 1/4 cup of blood finishes flowing then all there is left to flow is the (brown) lining.
