Some women cheat for the thrill of it. Some cheat because they aren't getting what they need from their husband and maybe find it difficult to leave him. Others cheat because they married the wrong man and found the right one after the fact. There's no one reason why anyone cheats. Everyone has their reason and right or wrong you can almost always bet it's a good one to that person.

I think sometimes because she thinks she is telling her husband what she needs, but in fact she is only hinting.

Women, typically but not always, are indirect speakers. So they don't always come out and say what they want, or will say it in such vague terms that a man can believe he understands and is doing exactly what she wants.

She won't speak up and say no, you don't have it right, and when you ask her to be more specific, she often will say, "If you loved me, you would know what I mean." or some other mindreading, gameplaying answer.

Not all women are like this, but a lot are.

I agree, the reasons are often the same or similar as with men cheaters. It's a character issue, a communications issue, a respect issue, and an issue of expectations to name a few.

Maybe he is never home, and never wants to hang out with her when he is... Maybe her man is self-involved and makes her feel worthless... Then what happens when someone else shows up and makes her feel special again...? Yes, she's still in the wrong, too, but if she wasn't NEEDING to hear that, she wouldn't have listened... It takes three, no matter which gender does the cheating: The spouse not meeting the needs, the spouse not having needs met, and the person willing to fill the need. It doesn't make it right, but it's common because no one cares about anyone but themselves anymore...

For the same reasons men do i suppose they get bored and think what's out there is better than what they have at home.

Because they put their needs at the front and disregard what is the right thing to do and the damage it may cause.
They might "need" affection, an ego boost, sex, whatever.
