my music is from the 60 70 80 and the tape is discentergrating and i wish to put the music on casettes before the music canot be saved ,i wowld like amy advise on how to save this to cds for furture listening for they are my favorites of the period and the have been with me since they came out thank you

most computers have Sound Cards, which usually have a "Line-In" input
When you have the right cord for this line-in input you can put it into the "Headphone" jack of your tape player or "line out" jack,
and if you have a sound recording program like "Sound Recorder"
it will capture the sound as a .wav file, then you need a program that makes .wav into .mp3
you can get the right cord at Radio shack, i'm not sure what kind of tape player or computer you have so I can't really help you further

I have been using a program called Audacity to transfer some out of print vinyl on to CD. It has some excellent features specifically designed to remove pops and clicks, background noise, and will let you save multiple tracks from a single capture in individual files.
Other than the program all you need is a computer with a sound card, a cassette player, and the proper cable to hook the two up.

you need some kind of cassette player with ( out put ) and a CD player with ( input ) and the cables that will work for both, or cables for the input in your computer and save there and than burn to cd.

well, you'd have to have an input on your sound card, the cables to hook your cassette machine to the sound card (1/8" stereo plug to two rca plugs) , recording software, and a whole lot of time, after you record the tapes to the computer you can convert them to mp3 i use audacity ( recording software ) to record to the hdd

That is a hard question to answer. Look for a store in your town or city that could do that because the equipment costs a lot.

download then on your computer then you can use NERO 7 software to convert and write them on CDs i did it before many times.
