No. I don't know why people say things like that, he's a very good batsman but he and every other cricket player will always be second best to the Great Sir Donald Bradman.

Lets not forget, they were never well paid like they are today, they never had covers to protect the pitch, and the pitches were not of the same quality as they are today, they couldn't walk off if the light was failing. The code of conduct was strictly put in place.

Different eras but Sir Donald Bradman would have stood out in any era. Contrary to popular belief it is not that easy to compile an average as outstanding as that, fast bowlers may be fitter and pitches suited to their missiles but lets face how many really good fast bowlers are there in this modern age. Not many and that's the reason why Australia have been profiting.

actually it's not comparable and quite difficult.

in bradman's time cricket was a very different game. bats, balls, equipment, field settings, types of bowling delivery were all very different from what cricket is now. ponting is a master in the modern version and bradman is a master in the old version ,however you cant really compare the two due to advances in sport.

nowdays it is much more difficult to get the avg bradman had then. cricket is much more competitive and batsman face better quality bowlers and fielders.

but with that in mind, at his time, bradman was miles ahead in the game then his peers, much more then ponting is now..so if you want an answer. it would probably be bradman.

Ricky Ponting can be compared with any players of this decade But in no way with Sir Bradman. He was a legend.

Not at all. In Bradman time he leads the Team, In recent times Australian cricketers ran the team successfully with collective strength without their Captain either Steve, Ponting or Hussey.

Yes.

Of course, the Don's footwork has suffered quite a bit since he died, so he's probably past his best now.
