Me and my friend have looked in the hood for half hour, very frustrated, anyone know where the hell the dipstick for the transmission is in an 89 Chrysler 5th Avenue? Thanks.

IN 1989 CHRYSLER BUILT BOTH A FRONT WHEEL DRIVE
5TH AVE. ( Y BODY ) AND A REAR WHEEL DRIVE 5TH AVE
( M BODY). ON THE FRONT WHEEL DRIVE IT IS ON THE DRIVER SIDE, ON THE FRONT OF THE TRANSAXLE AND IS REALLY SHORT,,, ABOUT 4 INCHES STICK OUT...
ON THE REAR WHEEL DRIVE IT IS BEHIND THE PASSENGER SIDE VALVE COVER AT THE FIREWALL...

Bulldog is correct. The 1989 front-wheel drive "Fifth Avenue" is a sub model of the New Yorker. The 1989 Fifth Avenue, the last old rear-wheel drive Mopar, was only manufactured through the last days of 1988. I assume you are looking for the trans dipstick in the rear-wheel drive version. It is not colored and has a curled handle about big enough for your finger. You will have to lean over the right fender and look between the back of the engine and the firewall. The stick may be missing. If so, also look for the two-foot long tube that snakes its way down to the transmission.
