I have seen this card being advertised by Go-Sim.
Anyone know what they are like?
Recommend them?

Their world card looks kind of expensive to me. If you plan on just receiving calls all across Europe then it's a good deal. If you actually want to make calls, it might be better to look at a prepaid provider in the country you're traveling to.

O2 and Vodafone, I would say they both good, just the Vodafone is good for the rroamning within Europe and for calling to Europe (international) O2 is great with offers such as pay as you go and contract free stuff as it was mentioned.. Though Vodafone and all the others have pay as you go ( sim only) O2 I would say a bit more convinent.

Never heard of this before.

You can get cheap new phones from here. They are part of the carphonewarehouse group and very cheap.
