I drank none with my first prenancy. Then, while pregnant with the second, I had gestational diabetes. I took classes and educated myself. There is certainly support that pop if fine in moderation. As long as you have no high sugar levels in your blood, have one once in a while. Some studies say no diet pop, but the current info from the gestational diabetes doctors, is that diet pop is okay in moderation, too.

Yes and no. Caffeine isn't great for the baby, so most doctors will tell you to keep it under two servings a day, although that isn't a staunch rule and having 3 in a day isn't going to kill the baby or anything drastic like that. But as a general rule, try to keep your caffeine down. The other reason that soda can be bad is because there's so much sugar in it, which isn't great for you or the baby. And even if you're drinking caffeine-free soda, you don't want to drink too much because it can make your weight gain say higher than it's supposed to be, which can cause a whole host of other problems. So don't stress, and feel free to have a soda now and then, just keep it limited.

Well, the doctors dont want u to consume caffeine because the dangers of it are still not very well known. But it is known that as soon as u drink it, it goes straight to the baby for some reason. Also there are plenty of sodas without it. I know I was drinking gingerale faithfully because of my constant nausea and indejestion. I switched to non-caff pepsi about halfway into my pregnancy because I couldnt stand the taste of gingerale anymore. The other main reason they dont want u drink sodas and softdrinks are because of the empty calories. The baby (and you) get no nutritional value from them. It doesnt hurt every now and then though.

Not bad to drink soda while you are pregnant, but you need to limit the amount of caffinated soda you drink. It's reccommended that you do not drink more then 2 caffinated drinks a day while pregnant. So, if you are a coffee drinker, you can safely have 1 cup of coffee and one caffinate soda a day, after that drink decaf soad.

No. You probably want to watch your caffeine levels and you shouldn't have too many empty calories, but an occasional soda isn't going to hurt anything.

No, not at all. You shouldn't drink too many sodas anyway, pregnant or not...neither should anyone else. Too much sugar and too many calories.
