Make your government a dictatorship. Finance it with wars of expansion. Constantly reinforce the ideas of loyalty and solidarity in your people and military with a reward program that allows minor freedoms to those who prove themselves worthy. Make everything except those minor freedoms illegal. Control everything from entertainment, internet access etc. to jobs, property ownership, etc. Citizens will have no individual rights save those allotted to them. Your nation will not be a great place to live, but governments such as these have proven successful over the course of history. Then write a paragraph as if you were the dictator of this country and only had moments to live because your closest ally just stabbed you in the back during a coup. You may fail, but i bet it would be more interesting than other people's work.

1. Me, it's my country!!!
2. Taxes from the people of the country would help to finance the country.
3. Me (the ruler) and a selected few councilers that I handpick, I would propose laws and my council would help me make changes.
4. Laws, just your basic laws, no stealing, murdering is illegal. illegal would be driving drunk and doing drugs... Pretty much everything else would be legal.
5. Basically the same as the bill of rights.
6. Use diplomacy, and politness, but no war, we wouldn't fight.
7. Because it's a island nation where you can basically do whatever you want.

Well...there is something wrong with this approach...I recommend that you survey the Federalist Papers first...this is the root of our form of government...btw...it designed to be like a teeter totter.....a balance between states and federal government...the primary rationale for federal government was a common defense and promotion of commerse. All other functions were intended to be performed by the states where local and state governments could be monitored by the voters.

There is a computer game that does this by the way...only if you short change something...like...for example..forget to build a viable Army..then you are invaded....or...if you don't plan for the production and distribution of food...your people starve and overthrow you...you have to tax.....how much...how do you do it? Who gets mad.....

To get a good idea of how all governments are organized by function..go to the CIA fact books...take a look at several different countries....ours is the best government for us..but not the only one.....and other types are better for other groups of people...
