You have to answer or a default judgment in favor of the petitioner will be entered. And you will be without your alimony.

Default judgments are very, very hard to get overturned, so act quickly. You usually have 30 days in which to answer a motion unless you get an extension, but contact an attorney ASAP to be sure.

Unless you want to end up in big legal trouble, you have to answer.

If you want to try to take more than is legally owed to you, you'll just have to pay it back with interest anyway, so you have nothing to gain.

Be thankful that you got free money for as long as you did.
