Answering for my white side lol.....I'd have to say the thugs and gangsters because they will take silly and absurd actions while the educated ones will be a threat politically. And ofcourse people taking their anger out physically on others is worse than that.

Well, I think both pose threats, but the threats they pose are very different. For example, gangstas pose more mundane sorts of threats...violence, theft, etc. You can expect a gangsta do be dealing crack, stealing cars, shooting random people in the neighborhood...these are not minor dangers, just run of the mill. Black men who are educated and use their education to misrepresent the needs of Black citizens by always playing the race card and keeping Black people in poverty pose a very real, hidden threat. Both types of Black men should have their @$$es wooped and take lessons in productivity and try to promote real change. Jesse Jackson is an example of the educated Black man who blames White people for all the problems of Black people without searching for real solutions to the issues. 50 Cent is a gangsta who promotes the gangsta lifestyle and who, himself, was a living testament of the All-American gangsta. Both are scum of the Earth.

thugs aren't a threat because they tend to self-destruct. Its the intelligent black man that poses the biggest threat.
But black men, no matter how intelligent they get will never break the cycle of hegemony until we can develope a distinct vision for ourselves and escape the visoin that the white man has for us.

Thugs & gangsters period.
Why talk about slavery at all? None of my ancestors enslaved anyone. And yours weren't enslaved after 1865. Isn't it about time you stopped using slavery as an excuse for the sorry state most black males find themselves in today & began taking responsibility for yourselves? I dated a black man for several years when I was in my 20's. His parents thought education was important and so he went to college. He's sending his kids to college. We never once talked about slavery; he didn't see any point to it & neither did I.

I think intelligent black men are the most threatening to the current white dominant ideology, however, I think many whites perceive the thug-stereotype to be violent criminals and a threat to their personal (individual) well being and safety.
Personally, I think the intelligent black man needs to become more vocal, giving voice to the issues that need to be addressed. This isn't about slavery, it is about institutionalized racism and disparities in equality and equity.
let's disrupt the current hegemony!

The thugs and gangsters (and gangsta rappers) keep white people afraid and ready to listen to racist rants. The intelligent ones who talk about slavery earn the respect of most whites.

Skin color is of no importance in this question. ANY person who is a "thug" poses a real threat to our society. Any person who uses the past as a weapon poses a threat to our society. Both are posing the same threat as far as I am concerned.

The biggest threat are hate filled people like you who spew garbage. Do you actually believe only black people can be thugs or gangsters? If so you should check this out http://www.crimelibrary.com/gangsters_outlaws/mob_bosses/index.html and get a life.

I was hoping for the threat of black activists that promote equality -- by violence of not. If the threat you're talking about is the oppressive marketing system whites impose on blacks, hopefully the greatest threat is education.
