Durango, to Silverton, to Ouray, to Telluride. Don't do this in the winter.

I second the first answer - and it's definitely a mid summer ride. We did it in June and got snowed on. Still an absolutely epic adventure. Gotta love those signs 'Avalanche hazard, absolutely no stopping or standing next 100 yards'.

Look out for rocks on the road - big rocks.
