Mathematically yes, more than likely though they won't make it. Right now the Steelers hold the 10th seed and are a game and half out of the 6th spot. They need the Jets, Jacksonville, Chiefs and Denver to all lose 2 games a piece, 3 would be better because then the tie breaker is thrown out. Of course the Steelers need to win their remaining games as well which is the Panthers, Ravens and Bengals.
They are still alive but they need way too much help to make it! Stranger things have happened though like back in the 89 season when the Steelers miraculously snuck into the playoffs in a very similar scenario as they face today. Also, since 1991 only 3 teams in the NFL have started 6-7 and made the playoffs, so it can happen!

Wasn't it the Steelers that were almost in the same situation last year? And can someone remind me how they ended up last year?

honestly it would take a small miracle....only 3 teams with a 6-7 record have made it to the playoffs ever. pretty much everyone else would have to choke majorly
