This depends on the place where you are arrested (or otherwise encounter the police), but in general you should give this information to the police on request. If you refuse to give it, you will almost certainly be detained and are inviting worse trouble than you may already be in. Unless you are in fact guilty of a crime, there should be nothng wrong with giving a police officer any of this information.

The supreme court recently ruled that when asked by the Police, a person MUST identify themselves by name and date of birth. This was a supreme court decision so it applies nationwide.

if u dont want to comply then they will arrest u and then u will be kept until u give them answers
