Why is it that the phone always rings at the same time I take a bite of my lunch or get up to go to the bathroom ? I can sit at my desk for 2 hours doing nothing and the minute I go to a web page, get up to go to the bathroom or take a bite of my lunch, the phone will ring. Am I the only one this happens to?

It happens to me too. I HATE it. I sometimes put them on hold till I swallow or run to pee or finish my answer...

There is this guy I know of who went to visit an old friend of his. While he was there he was sitting in the living room in the middle of a chat and the phone rings. The old man didn't pause in his talk and he didn't make any move to pick up the phone. The conversation was going on and the phone kept ringing and still the old man didn't even make a pretence to pick up the phone. So this guy I know of finally asks "aren't you going to answer your phone?"
and the old man say "no!". So the question was asked "why not it's ringing?!" and the old man says "because it's my phone...I don't have to answer it if I don't want to."
That's about the only human being who owns a phone that I know of, that this has not happened to.
Everyone else has probably suffered the same jinx that you and I have.

Somehow, I think the Higher Beings, Gods, or whatever wherever are just having a joke at us all - this odd timing is completely and totally universal.
I get up to go to lunch/bathroom, I get a call. I come back from being away from my desk to go to the printer, I have 3 voice mail messages.
Never fails.

Sadly, no. I know at my work, the moment I get up to go to the bathroom, either the phone rings or someone walks in. Grr...perfect timing as always, losers.

Yea it happens to me too. Whenever I go to bathroom and come back I see there is a miss call. That pisses me off.

whenever the phone rings and I'm upstairs and run down to get it, it's always a sales call!
