I had a friend ask me if having abortions can make the female infertile? I told her I had no idea, but thought of asking on here to see what kind of responses I get...thanks.

Yes... it can. But eveyone is different and their bodies act differently everytime. Birth Control is a much better idea if you plan to have kids in the future.

As far as I know, having one or two abortions in the first trimester with no complications will not affect future fertility. If you increase the number of abortions, have late-term abortions, or experience complications from the procedures, then that may affect future fertility.

I knew of a girl who had 3 abortions she is my age. Now she has two children. So who knows. I think its just because different peoples bodies act differently.

Yes...any type of operation is risky. I personally would never kill an infant. I saw a video called the "silent scream". My heart aches for the child that was killed by an abortion in that video. If you haven't seen it...watch it. VERY educational.

Yes, it is possible. Sometimes the abortion procedure does something to the woman's "insides".

i don't believe it would make you infertile but it can damage the utirine(sp?) wall so the egg can't attach itself. in that case there are procedures they can do to help keep the egg in

If it is done properly, no, there shouldn't be any complications... If it is done by an unsterile, unsuitable clinic or backyard, then yes, there very well could be irreversible damage to her....

Not if it's done in a reputable clinic, and she doesn't have any weird complications.
