Most corporations will not have the firewall installed ON your computer. There would be a system between your network and the Internet acting as a Firewall.

No way to get to that without Administrative access

As the first respondant said, if you have an administrator account you can remove the firewall. However, you will need to go to the manufacturers website and request the special removal tool to properly remove it. The add/remove applet in Windows does not properly remove firewalls or anti-virus software as these types of programs need to embed deeply into the OS, and as such need a special tool for proper removal. If not properly removed then it will cause a lot of system instability, run into problems on any new firewall installed later, and can cause a full crash of the system.

I would discuss this with the owner of the computer though, or you could find yourself out of a job. Good luck and have a great day.

you're appropriate to flow away the firewall working and upload the Limewire professional web site handle to its depended on zone. You did no longer point out which firewall you're employing so precise training won't be able to settle for yet many times in case you are the pc administrator you're able to have the skill to get admission to the firewall settings and there could be a depended on zone area.

and if you use a proxies, it'll only be a matter of moments that the work admin and it will add it to their growing list of sites that you wont be able to access.

Do you not realize the problems you create for your work when you visit unauthorized sites? YOU put them in jeopardy and in a position that could make them liable to any objectionable thing you see on the net. Those blocks are there for reason, and thats to make sure the students are not viewing material that should not be viewed and TO KEep you from surfing the net while ON work time.

What happens if you surf to a site that has someone posting photos of them having sex with animals? And someone walked passed you as you were viewing them and were offended? How are you going to answer to your bos when they question you because they know that myspace is a blocked website?

If you have administrator controls, you can disable the firewall software. If its a hardware firewall, then there is nothing you can do.

You are likely on DSL, you'll need the DSL modem (and router if you have one)'s password, then you will need to port forward as shown at www.portforward.com
