Has anyone noticed these billboard posted along the highway with a picture of a baby on it and the words (it maybe just posted in Minnesota)
"What! Embryos are Babies!"
In small letters below this are the words
"Heart Beat 18 days"

Aside from the grammar issues of putting a exclamation point after a question word, who the hell are these ads suppose to convince! (see, I can do that too)

Seriously, that's worse then saying a baby is an old man. Embryos are defined as between the stage of life between fertilization and 8 weeks. Babies are defined as between birth and around 1 year. Seriously, how can anyone argue that these are the same thing. Even epigentically, they are different at this stage.

Furthermore, what in the world is hearbeat argument suppose to prove? Even if you were to argue the absurd idea that anything with a hearbeat is a baby, that would still exclude all embryos younger then 18 days. Can someone please explain why in world someone made these stupid ads?

The purpose of the billboard is to get you to read it. Congrats. You passed the test.

I agree with you. I totally hate these ads and I'm pregnant! My husband and I just laugh at it whenever we drive by. I also caught the exclamation mark mistake. I was trying to figure out how to actually read the statement without making "what" a question. It's impossible.
