Lost is on mid-season hiatus until February when it will come back with all new episodes. ABC is trying out some new shows on Wednesday; 4 sitcoms from 8pm to 10pm and Lost will follow at 10pm. This is to avoid going up against American Idol, which will air at 9pm on Fox.
This mid-season hiatus is a new programming strategy some of the networks are trying with their hot shows. Idea behind this is that these shows already have a fan base and viewers will come back. In the meantime, it gives the networks a chance to bring in new shows. It also negates the need to air reruns, which are more frustrating to most viewers.

Lost is on hiatus until Feb '07 (season 3 ended around 3 week of Nov). they said it was because many people complained they were showing to many re-runs last year during the season. they will air 16 straight new episodes starting in Feb. May have also been an opportunity to showcase ABC new show Daybreak which I hear is going to be cancelled.
You can watch the first part of season 3 episodes on abc.com

The show is on a hiatus till late winter.
Their plan from the beginning of the season was to air about 6-8 new episodes. then take a few month break, then finish the season with all new shows back to back (no repeats like last season)

It's off for the holiday season. It's not one of the most watched periods, so it's more convenient to air when they know people will watch them, and not be doing other things.

Rob Owen, The Pittsburgh placed up-Gazette's television critic, wrote approximately "Six stages" a pair of weeks in the past. here is what he reported: "ABC has renewed Friday night drama "adult adult males in wood" and could circulate it to ten p.m. Thursday beginning Nov. 30 to take extra suitable income of the "gray's Anatomy" lead-in. "wood" is a extra suitable extra healthful with "gray's" than "Six stages," which ABC says will relax till January. If "wood" takes to the air, do not carry your breath that "Six stages" will ever return." Sorry, persons.
