I heard there is one that you put songs in (like an MP3 player) and let it play by itself for hours. I am looking for something that could be taken to a friend's house or other small gathering and used to simply "DJ" the night. Does anyone know the name of any device that would work? Thanks!

What you're looking for wouldn't be a Karaoke machine. I'd look for a boombox that can play MP3 CD's. Just burn a CD from your computer full of MP3's. You should be able to fit about 160 songs or so on it. Put this in the boombox, set it to shuffle and that thing will go for about 10 or 11 hours without repeating if you filled up the CD.
