Either would be equally damaging as a blunt object. Hope you are wearing gloves to keep from leaving DNA evidence.(Blame the Vending Machine person!)
Now, if the can were to explode upon impact, the contents of the Coke would be more likely to cause skin irritations and burns than the Pepsi, but only a little. There is enough citric acid in both to cause permanent damage to the lining of your stomach. There are other chemicals inside that are not very good for you in or out. Pepsi Corp actually uses unused vats of their syrup to wash the company vehicles. They then rince with water. Shiny clean...but they do have to repaint every so often, because the mixture removes the clear coat. (High school science project: Place one penny into a clear glasses of water and another into a glass of Coke/Pepsi. The penny in water will eventually rust. The other will eventually go away!)
The caffeine inside both is also very addictive. If you wake up in the morning with a headache, try half a can of either and ,viola, gone. Better than an aspirin and won't thin your blood.

Pepsi... and I'll tell you why:
Back in aught 1 (2001), I attended a high school in which all of our assemblies were cancelled and our lunch was cut short by 20 minutes because the cheerleaders thought it might be a good idea to throw cans of Pepsi into the crowd at our homecoming assembly...
They were wrong. Instead, they sparked The Great Soda Riots of '01.

If your machine vends the 7 oz Coke bottles, use one of them. They are perfectly balanced for throwing and the glass is thick enough to withstand the thickest skull. You might even be able to drink your soda afterward.
If the machine vends cans, it doesn't make any difference, canned soda tastes terrible.
