I'm 17 and have been dancing ballet since I was 5. So yes, I consider myself a ballerina. although for some reason I never really liked the term ballerina, I like to be called a ballet dancer.

I have a huge passion for ballet and i'm a ballerina. Most people say I'm to young to know what a passion for something is but I know that being a ballerina my whole life is what I want to do. I've been doing ballet for 8 years and i am only at the age of 12. I'm starting to train to get into The School of American Ballet thyan I'll try to get into Julliard. I've already planned my future and I'm sticken to it. I was born a ballerina and i'll die a ballerina.

I love ballet--LOVE it.
I'm curious if any little girls (or boys) out there still want to be ballerinas when they grow up....
It's been told to me that I could dance before I could walk. Truly, as a little girl, I preferred to twirl from point A. to point B., than by any other mean. I was much like Angelina Ballerina; she is the title character from a children's book about a young mouse who wants nothing more than to become a prima ballerina (if you're not already familiar). And I, too, was a dusk until dawn kind of dancer.
The only reason I ever stopped dancing was because my parents split at about the same time I was ready to advance into the Boston Ballet; they moved apart, and the commute to the city would have been difficult. But I never lost my passion for expressive movement, and continue exposing myself to it whenever possible. If you are thinking of becoming a dancer, I (of course) encourage you to pursue it 100%--especially if the hunger is strong. Art is unique, in that most artists can't help but become consumed by their particular medium, and this is the only way they know how to live.
Great question--I enjoyed answering it!

My daughter takes ballet. She is only 4 but she loves it and says she wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.
She loves ballet and has almost all of the 12 dancing princesses dolls from the movie. (its a barbie movie).
I hope she sticks with it because when I was about 6, I was in tap and ballet and I quit. I wish I would have never quit.

I LOVE DANCING I have been dancing since in diapers and haven't stoped since. It is such a graceful and elagant move. If I ever had to stop I would propbably pull my hair out. I have been in Nutcracker for 8 years and I hope I never stop. Unfortunately, I can't make it a living because it doesnt pay much but I will always do it on the side (once im older) untill I cant move a muscle in my body. I have such a passion even though every says I'm not old enough to understand what passion is but I do now. I study Cecchetti (the type of ballet) and have found it one of the best studies. I like how you are interested in others and there thought/history of ballet. Good luck with your years of dancing and HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!

I LOVE ballet. I've been dancing ballet since I was 2, and haven't stopped since! Every winter for the past 6 years I have performed in the Nutcracker, and thats also a lot of fun. I never want to quit- Achilles tendonitis and a broken ankle did set me back for awhile last year, but I'm so glad to be dancing again. :-)

I've loved ballet ever since I was little. Swan Lake or The Nutcracker are my all time favorites. Ballet is so graceful and I am such a klutz. I always wanted to learn to dance, but because the lessons were so expensive and we moved alot I just learned to appreciate classical ballet when I could watch someone else dance. one of my friends is a dancer, I think she went to NY to become a choreographer, she was very graceful.

I took lessons for a few years at a local school, but then the school got too crowded and the teacher got stressed. The environment just wasn't as appealing anymore so I quit. I still have dreams about dancing though. Being a ballerina is such a good feeling...

i'm 13 too! i admire ballet. i've got been dancing considering i became into 4 and that i began out ballet while i became into 7! so which you're surely no longer too youthful! maximum people your age could think of they are too previous to commence ballet yet all people can commence ballet, all people. I additionally weigh one hundred thirty-a hundred thirty five pounds.. so once you're fat, i'm fat. (i wish maximum of my weight is in muscle nonetheless! Ballet facilitates with that relatively!). you ought to easily go on your community dance college and ask to sign up in a newbie ballet classification and notice how a lot they value. After which you are going to could purchase a black bodysuit, purple tights and ballet slippers. ballet is amazingly troublesome nonetheless, don't be discouraged in case you don't get it good away. it takes years to be stable at it, and an excellent style of dedication. you ought to finally finally end up no longer desirous to be a ballerina, and the dancing industry is troublesome adequate to get into. stable luck! :)
