Hi
I am driving old Honda Accord 92, there is some problem with my radiator fan - it never cutts off after I tuned off engine ie - keeps running continuously for hours until my battery goes dead.
I got new battery changed and now every time after the driving I remove the connection from the battery. Wht is the cause and solution

easy way to check, the relay should be in your fuse block under the hood on the passanger side. When you open the fuse box, you'll see two big relays, look next to those and you'll see 2 smaller ones, the bottom one will be your cooling fan relay, switch with the one above( it's used for you power windows) and see if anything changes, if not, you more than likely have a bad temp sensor.

Someone wired it direct instead of having it fixed when it overheated. Find the relay for the motor and the sensor on the radiator, and reconnect it where it is supposed to be hooked up. You will have to fix whichever part is not working right of course.

does it run normally when driving,it may have an afterrun sensor and relay that controls the fan when the car is shut off,the sensor for that or the relay for afterrun may be bad.there may be a seperate fuse try removing it

sound like a bad temp sensor, if it was a relay the fan would'nt come on at all. then you would have an over heating problem.

There is a temperature sensing switch, not sure where it's located on this model car, but it may be defective. It's simple to change if you're handy with a wrench.

Hmmm..could be the thermal sending unit...had similar problem years ago....unit can cause not to come on or not to cut off...could be, and replacing same is not expensive or difficult.
