I live in Chicago, and I personally love the cold, snowy winters we get here. (My only problem is with ice, but I'm used to walking on it.) Things are very peaceful, quiet, etc. (Some people call it an "eerie silence", but I don't agree with them.) Plus, you are never too old to fling a snowball or two. ;-)

I live in Toronto Ontario and even though it does get reeally cold at times, I like being able to experience all four seasons without leaving home. In the summer it goes up to about 35 degrees celcius and in the fall i see the beautiful colours of the leaves changing and in the winter i can see snow and go skating around the block from my house because there's ice rinks all around the city and then in the spring it all melts and the weather is mild again. Winter only lasts about 3 months and in that time, its not always "bitterly cold." When it snows, its actually warmer than when it doesn't snow. But living here, at least I get the possibility of having a white christmas and doing all kinds of winter activities without having to travel to do them and same goes for summer and the rest of the seasons. I get the best of both worlds.

I stay right here in Maine because of the fact that's the place i became into born. the climate isn't as extreme as many human beings think of. specific, we've occasional strings of days while the temperature won't attain double digits. however the payoff is interior the summertime while that's a very good seventy 5 ranges interior the day and we don't overheat and we are in a position to sleep very genuinely at night. interior the iciness, we've warmth in our properties purely like each physique else. we are in a position to pass snowboarding, snowmobiling, sledding, and snowshoeing exterior. The chilly isn't that undesirable once you're shifting around. interior the spring, summer time, and fall, we are in a position to pass cycling, swimming, hiking, horseback using, tenting -- you call it. Maine has dazzling fall foliage. you could not get that throughout Florida, California, Arizona, Texas, or maybe ny city. The air right that's purifier than in super metropolitan factors. The crime fee is low. we've mountains, hills, lakes, ponds, forests, the sea -- all interior of an hour's force of another. The atmosphere isn't boring. we don't could pass everywhere to relish each and all of the 4 seasons.

Do people actually enjoy living in fiercely humid and hot climates like Louisiana and the Southeastern States?
I enjoy living in Chicago where we actually have a winter. It makes you appreciate the warm weather of the summer when it arrives. People in the south can take warm weather for granted and not appreciate it as much.

New England is beautiful, and cold isn't a big problem as long as you have funds to pay for your heating bill and have a wardrobe that's suitable for the weather!

The temperature here in Canada isn't that cold, it is obviously colder on average then say Texas but you get used to it.
I am used to a cool temperature then down south, I personally can't stand high temperatures and probably couldn't function in the average temperature in Texas but it is normal for them.
Yet when people from down there come they say it is cool here but is normal for me.

People like to live where they are happy and if that means throwing on an extra parka then they will adapt and do whatever it takes.
