Try an over the counter stool softener. Also try prunes or prune juice.
Pregnancy slows the digestion. Also, drink more water. Constipation is a result of insufficient water in the intestines. (And this means WATER, not juice or coffee or soda.)

Constipation is a common aliment during pregnancy. And yes it can be very painful especially when you're already uncomfortable by being pregnant! I always ate fruit like an apple every single day. It helped me a lot. There were some weeks when i wouldn't go though but most of the time I was regular. Try drinking a lot of water too. This helps to keep you regular and eat a high fiber cereal with fruit.
Good luck and congrats!

Don't eat bananas they only worsen the problem, go get some prune juice it is really gross but does help. And take your fiber pills, I take two a day and stay pretty regular for the most part. I have had a lot of in that area too.

Ok me too had the same issues as you and yes dear I know how you feel it sucks and hurts, and I know how uncomfortable you are right now. I did this.... I made some Metamucil with warm not hot water and just make the 8 oz as it says and drank that every other hour til I went and when I was at the end of my rope and that didn't work I finally used a suppository but check with your doctor to make sure its ok for you. Good Luck I hope you feel better soon.

Lots and lots of water is the first step. Also, get some fibery foods in ya. And I would suggest staying away from the apple juice - it can cause gas and that would not really help you here. Also, make sure you are eating regular, small meals. You're system's going to be out-of-whack if your eating habits are too.

Old wives receipe, it does work, but do not take a lot as it will have the opposite effect.
Boil some cabbage, let the water cool down, and drink a SMALL glass. Start off small, but increase only over time.
Also try ALBRAN, worked for me
Good Luck

Stay away from the bananas - they constipate. Just keep taking the fiber pills. Try lots of water, prunes, peas, pears; all the 'p's (they suggest this for babies, too). Hang in there!

I am interning for a midwife and she tells her patients to use an over the counter stool softener such as colace (spelling?) Also drink more water than juice. Apple juice has sugar in it, which can constipate you even more. So try the colace, water, and prunes/prune juice. good luck

I'm sure it does.
YOu need to eat things with a lots of fibre - apple juice doesn't do it - you need to eat the apple. Bran, whole grain breads, vegetables, prune juice and lots of water.
This should help a little, but really its the pregnancy hormones that're stalling out your intestines. You'll have to just bear with it until you have the baby.

First bananas will make your constipation worse and apple juice isn't much better. Try oranges they are a great laxative but you have to eat a whole lot of them.
