for the number 2 question.. my proffesor addressed how there are people who are so offended when they see a mother nursing their baby.. and there was a woman on Delta Airlines and she was kicked off, along with her baby and husband because she was breast feeding.. she was seated next to the window and her husband was sitting next to her.. and i guess someone was so totally offended with what she was doing that they just kicked them off.. how messed up was that?

talk about any experiences you had while breat feeding in public.. were you ever kicked out from somewhere for doing it?

I breastfed my daughter until she weaned herself at 31 months.

I breastfed everywhere. As they say, it's not about a woman's right to breastfeed; it's about a baby's right to eat. I wasn't going to deprive my daughter of something she needed just because someone might see a breast. I tried to be discreet but I figured anyone who was offended should just get over it. It's our society that sexualizes the breast- they're really for babies. Most states have a law on the books that says you can't kick a woman out of anywhere for breastfeeding. I was given a hard time about breastfeeding at church, though. Actually, I was a scout leader and people got offended about my breastfeeding. I quit scouts because of it.

1. My first daughter 3 months...because I had to take some medication that caused me to loose my milk. Second 7 months and still going strong. I will continue for at least a year and then as long after as I feel comfortable with. I would not go past the age of two, but that is just a personal decision.

2. I breastfeed in public. I try to be discreet, but if someone catches a tiny glimpse of skin oh well. Look away if it offends you. Or I could give you a blanket to cover your head with hahaha!

I breastfed my baby girl until she was 13 months old. I would have gone longer, but I needed to take some medication.

I think it is a woman's right to breastfeed in public. When a baby is hungry the baby should eat. There are ways to be very discreet. No one should be offended by seeing a baby eat.

I nursed my first daughter until she was 22 months old. After she turned one, she only nursed at night..as a comfort thing. I have a 6 week old and I plan to nurse her until about 10 months, only because it was so hard to wean my first the closer she got to 12 months...she started tugging at my clothes in public places when she wanted milk and that had to stop!

I am completely comfortable with nursing in public...breastfed babies have to eat too! Just use a little discretion, I use receiving blankets or a nursing wrap. No one needs to see nipples besides the baby.

i don't have kids or anything so i'm not an expert, but i do know alot about kids. you can breastfeed as long as you're comfortable. i think that no longer than a year should you breastfeed tho. some people only do it 4 months, others do it until they dry up/the kid doesn't want it/the kid is too old. as for breastfeeding in public i see no problem...as long as you cover yourself with a blanket. breastfeeding is a natural thing and there's nothing sexual about it. it's the best thing for the baby too. so do it anytime and anywhere. but don't do what i saw a woman do the other day. i was eating dinner with my boyfriend's family at a restraunt and the lady at the table next to us fed her baby (who didn't seem to want to eat at the time) with no blanket over her and the baby. it didn't bother me too muchcuz i've seen women breastfeeding before, but my boyfriend's mom just about crapped herself. she couldn't believe someone would do that at a fancy restraunt. so i guess do what feels right to you overall.

1. He's 5 months...6 mo. DEC 24...and I STILL breastfeed.
2. I don't Publically breastfeed. If Im out shopping..just pop into a changing room for 10-20 minutes or sit in the car, or bring a bottle of breastmilk. I feed infront of my mom and sister and my husband only. It's just my choice

I had three children I alternated breastfeeding and formula feeding for 18 months with all 3. They are healthier because of it.

I breastfed in public. If I can eat in public, so can my children. The only people who have a problem with this are perverts who have a twisted sexual hang-up. Those are people who don't understand that breasts are for babies and not for sex. Breastfeeding is not a sexual act. It is the inteded way to nourish our young. I don't know of anyone getting off on nursing their baby. It is a completely different sensation and it doesn't have anything to do with sexual gratification. You'll see.

I breast fed my first for 9 months and second for a year. I would breast feed in public but I usually would pick a somewhat secluded spot and try to be as descreet as possible by covering with a blanket or something. THis was more for those who may have felt uncomfortable around a breastfeeding mom than for myself.

I do not breastfeed I was unsuccesful but I firmly believe it is a natural thing and should be allowed to do anywhere! Anytime! Anyone who says different is a sicko themselves. They are not thinking of the breast as a source of nutrition but as a sexual thing... Which makes them the pervert. My sisters breastfeed up to 2 years. I have 4 sisters and 13 neices and nephews all breastfeed. Consult La leche league for more information, and support. My motto is "If you don't like it, why are you watching?" The people who have problems with breastfeeding in public have just that, 'problems'

I breastfeed for almost ten months. I breastfeed in public with a blanket over me and my baby and if their was a place to go (bathroom with seating, nursing room, or changing rooms) I would use those. Sometimes I even went out to my car. I didn't just breast feed out in a public space that was not for me.
