I definetly do, my older brother was mourning him when I got home that night, even though I was young I was still shocked by the way that it happened and the huge loss that had just occured. It seemed like he was just coming out from a rocky period in his life, and then bang!!!such a tragic loss! I hope you, John, are enjoying the big gig in the sky!!!

I was just coming home from work. I thought it was a hoax. When I got home I turned on the news and still couldn't believe it. I phoned everyone I could think of and many called me. For about ten years after on the anniversary of his death we all gathered at Nathan Phillips Square for a candle light vigil in his honour. Thank goodness we still have his music.

I was listening to the weekly countdown of top albums on WPLJ-FM in New York. They had an announcement that someone had been shot at the Dakota and taken to Roosevelt Hospital and it was rumored to be John Lennon. They played some more music, then the announcement came that the victim was Lennon and that he was dead. They stopped playing the countdown and played "Imagine", then nothing but Lennon and Beatle music the rest of the night. I was heartsick.

I remember it as if it happened yesterday. I was a freshman in high school and I was getting ready for school when I heard it on the news. I flipped out. They actually played Beatles/Lennon music all day at school over the PA system.
It bites that Lennon is gone, but if there's a rock & roll heaven, they've got one helluva band!!
Rest in Peace, John. Rock on!

I was trapped in a terrible screenplay writing class. Class has just let out for a break. Monday Night Football was on when it was announced over the game.
I remember making a terrible joke about the situation to dispell the horror and tragedy about it.

Yep, I was watching Monday Night Football (New England Patriots vs. Miami Dolphins) when Howard Cosell announced it. I damn near crapped in my pants. Needless to say I was up the rest of the evening/early morning watching all of the news shows. Work the next day definitely sucked big time...no sleep and bad news.

Yes, I remember it well, I was watching television in my living room with my husband and some friends. A special report interrupted the program we were watching a little after 9.p.m and announced the shocking news. We were all totally stunned and very sad at the news.

I was in the dayroom of our barracks at Patrick AFB in Florida playing Asteroids with a friend when I heard the news and it blew me away. I went immediately to watch the coverage on TV. A very sad day for me

I was playing street football down at a friend's house.. when his sister came out and told us. At first it was just reported that he was shot.. but then, within 20-30 minutes, the reports started coming in that he was dead.
