Why is it that georgie w.can try to sell our ports to a middle eastern country and yet will not have any direct talks with iran.Iran is willing to sit down and try to figure a way to work with our country yet our so called leader will not have the dignity and respect for our country and do this.He has plenty of friends in saudi arabia,where the muslim holy land of mecca is located.

1. Conservatives loudly criticized the President when he wanted to deal with a Middle Eastern port;

2. Iran (and Syria) is the cause of the chaos in Iraq. A democracy there is a threat to Iranian totalitarianism.

3. You are very naive to think that Iran is willing to do anything to help America; quite the opposite in fact. They are hell bent on our (and Israel's) destruction.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

Bush had talks scheduled with Iran in March and November 2006 ..... Iran canceled.Quit being a Liberal puppet and check for yourself..
"Because we respected Mr. Hakim's opinion, we accepted his request to talk to the United States but the Americans showed unreasonable and inappropriate behavior that made the talks impossible," Asefi said, refusing to explain what he meant by “inappropriate behavior”.

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi said "We do not have talks with the United States on the agenda now."
Now that Mahmoud Ahmadinejad believes the Democrats can run the show ,and knowing they are sympathetic to the radicals cause, he acts like he wants to talk because he thinks the Dem's will force acceptance of his nuclear program.

If you truly believe Ahmadinjhad wants to "figure out a way to work with our country," I have a bridge in San Francisco for sale.

I challenge you to read transcripts of his speeches to his own people that most of the media doesn't make the effort for you to see. This man is a fundamentalist religious zealot and will accept nothing short of the destruction of Israel and bringing on the Muslim equivalent of the Apocalypse. If you are willing to turn your back to that reality, you are the America-hater, because the subjugation of America has to occur as part of his grand plan.

This is NOT a battle of geography. It is a battle over ideology. consequently, trying to pacify that Iranian Whack-o is absolutely naive...and in this day and age...dangerous

Iran wants to destroy Israel, with the nukes they are researching.. Not exactly a nice country, do you suppose... Iran also open supports insurgency in Iraq.

I think we can tell Iran to pound sand if we want to. So be it.

The Saudis, by the way, did not have coup in 79, did they?

okay, very slowly now..the country of Dubai is NOT buying our ports. they are just going to have a contract to manage them. if it comes to war between us and them, we have the US military that is more than capable of taking them away from Dubai if necessary. okay?
