If he is fine all by himself then let him be. If you want to take him on keep feeding him. He is wild, hurt or not. If he starts to depend on you for food then you stop this might not be the best thing.
Hunters eat goose....Hate for it to walk (scurry over to) up to a hunter expecting something to eat.
We took a seagull to the dog pound. It has a hurt wing...

I'm assuming you are talking about a Canadian goose. The majority of these geese do not migrate, about 85-90% are classified as resident geese. You can not tell the difference between migratory geese and resident geese with out testing DNA.
Geese often have foot abnormalities due to turtles, fish etc... attacks to their feet. This will not effect their ability to eat.
If you want the goose to leave your pond then don't feed it. This is the worse thing you can do to help any wild animal. If you do feed it, thoroughly wash your hands after any contact. Geese are not clean animals and can transmit a lot of harmful diseases.
It may be hard to just sit back and watch a goose that SEEMS sad, but it is the best way to help it.
Even if the goose dies, it would be from natural causes and any interference on our part just prolongs any potential suffering.
May not be the answer you want to hear, but it is the best advice I have for the goose.

Call your local wildlife-rescue organization and ask if they have any suggestions for you. A deformed foot shouldn't affect the goose's ability to fly, so there might be something else going on. Or maybe he just doesn't want to fly south yet! Sometimes they don't go until quite late in the season.

Well depending on where you live - none of the geese in my lake (in Ohio) have flown south yet...they're sitting in the lake right now covered in snow. *shrug*
Call animal control, if they can't tell you how to help they could probably come and help the goose themselves.
Good luck!!

See if u can put a wooden box up for shelter and put lots of hay in it. Even the plastic type dog house easily found @ yard sale or consignment store.
