This movie is about a civilization that no longer exists. They lived in times of barbarism, comparable to the conquering of the West. Whites killing Indians, Indians killing Whites and so on. So when Mel makes a movie of the conquering of the West, will they say he is anti-White! HA HA...Cause I assume that native Americans may welcome such a narration of their demise.

Mel deserves no bs, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
being affended is being week, and that's all there is to it.

It is a profoundly beautiful and haunting movie. Who should care that Mel Gibson is a bigot.

Frankly, as I told my hubby, I can forgive Mel almost anything because of the job he did in The Year of Living Dangerously

I like Mel Gibson, If he didn't make Passion of the Christ, He wouldn't be so criticized on all that he does

Alot of the bad press he has gotten as of late has been over the drunken tirade he went on not long ago and started bashing Jews. I agree that most of the flack he got over "The Passion of the Christ" was underseved but the recent stuff I feel he kind of earned.

You do realize that the culture depicted does have descendants living today? Yeah...depict people's ancestors badly they might not be too happy about that, and some Native people in general aren't big on film depictions no matter what.
