YES! My husband is by far my best friend - I can be my self with him - good and bad - and he accepts me and loves me unconditionally I have gf's that I adore but nobody takes the place of my husband! We laugh and love and I have the best of both worlds, a companion, friend, lover etc.

After 16 married years, I can talk to my husband about most everything. In that way, I do consider him my best friend.
However, we do not share the same interests, so in that way I do not consider him my best friend. I wouldn't want him to share my hobbies, which include scrapbooking and reading romance novels. That would just be...odd to me. :)
My best (girl) friend and I have been friends for 25+ years. We have the same interests, we share a common history.
So, in that way, this friend is my best friend.
Perhaps the question I need to ask here is this: is it possible to have more than one best friend? ;)
Very interesting question! Thanks for giving me food for thought. Have a great day!

If your spouse isn't your best friend then you need to figure out why not and fix the problem.
