I mean, HOW MANY TIMES have you driven into a petrol ( gasoline) station and there are pumps free, but you see some silly young woman parked, blocking the forecourt waiting at a certain pump just so that her filler hole will be on the same side as the pump. Whereas - THE PEOPLE WHO DESIGN PETROL PUMPS ENSURE THE HOSE IS LONG ENOUGH TO REACH ROUND THE CAR NO MATTER WHAT SIDE THE HOLE IS ON..?
And I'll tell you an interesting thing also. If you look at those hoses, there is a "quick break" connection. So that if women try to drive away while the hose is still in the tank, the hose is designed to uncouple at the "quick break:" connection But these connectors can only be used once, so they charge the customer for the replacement connection - they're not cheap,. either.
I think we should go back to the days when the petrol pump attendant used to fill your tank, I didn't have a problem with that.

Personally, I LIKE it the way it is done on the Military Reservations -- all entries to the pump come in the SAME direction (and it is a ONE WAY area only) -- so there are all those pumps available -- no waiting -- and for each side of the car/vehicle that you have the fuel filler on.
Now ... getting back to your insult of women ... I am an Older Female .. a Retiree with injuries -- I walk with a Cane. So for me, having the ability to pull up to a pump and have the Fuel Filler Cap on the same side as the pump itself -- well that just makes it easier on me to fill up MY VEHICLE. This also applies for Males too -- and they LIKE to have their vehicles filled up on the same side as their fuel fill cap is located.
NO ONE wants to have their vehicle's paint job scratched up by dragging a hose across the trunk or back end of their vehicle -- NO ONE!

Okay first off why does it have to be a break away pump made for women drivers. What about oh say the men trying to rip off the gas station and make a quick get away.
About pulling the hose around the car. I drive a Dodge Ram1500 with a Hemi. I wouldn't want that hose rubbing all over my paint job.
Plus like sex, we know where the whole is and where to stick the hose. You can't just enter the hole from just any point of entry. And like sex we aren't in a hurry to get off and on our way. Cause we don't wait last minute for everything. We like to take our time and take in the full experience. Why don't you learn to go around.

For an easy life? So they don't have to tit about stretching the hose over the car, scratching the paintwork, getting dirty hands - so many reasons. Maybe they like having to wait a moment at the pumps, gives them a chance to touch up their make-up? Maybe they're enjoying watching the old git in front trying to stretch the hose round his car which he's parked a few centimetres too far out from the pump so it won't stretch quite into his tank - that always brightens my day!! Then there's always the moment when the residue from the last person's fuel fill spills over their roof - thats a really giggle

I think you're statement is a bit general and does not apply to every young woman driver out there. I use whatever is available, the pump hose stretches just fine.

Your question is more a condemnation of women drivers than a true question. However, I will say the obvious. They don't want to haul the hose that far (even you would like someone to fill your tank), and they probably don't want the hose dragging across their car...or disconnecting it while they're dragging it to the other side.

Wanting to look attractive is a powerful, innate need in women it seems. Women feel as though if they aren't attractive they're not worth much as a woman. They need to develop a stronger sense of self that doesn't rely on input from other people.

hmmm, and which young women would you be referring to?
My husband still thinks that the stupid petrol pipe wont reach the other side of the car, and I always tend to prove him wrong! And he is in his mid 30's...
I shall rethink your statement if I was YOU! or shall I start a question with..."why do mid 30's men always think the petrol pump pipe wont reach the opposite side of the car?"
Stop stereotyping and generalising just because YOU saw one or two young women do this!

If you think about that, it makes good sense actually, the hose normally gets covered in grit and what have you. Then you come along and drag it across your lovely paint-work, hey presto wonderful scratches,

Plus yeah i preferred the old attendant days gave "men" something useful to do instead of criticising us sensible women !!! lol
