My grandmother kept her week's work very organized. Monday was wash day. Tuesday she ironed. Friday the house got thoroughly cleaned. Saturday was baking day and a trip to town for groceries. Sunday was church and rest. The other days she did the routine chores of cooking, straightening, doing dishes, sweeping and mopping. After the noon meal every day, she mopped the kitchen floor, mopped the front porch and then swept and mopped both sidewalks. She raised 500 baby chicks each year; sold some; butchered a lot for the freezer. Kept hens for our eggs and Sunday chicken and dumplings. She had a huge garden and canned all summer long.

Tuesday was always spaghetti or pasta day
Friday was fish day
Sunday was Roasted Chicken
