I do not want to hear from anyone who is celebrating this day or has somewhere to go. I only want answers from people who believe that christmas has become too commercial and people have become really fake over the holidays pretending they care when in truth they dont, doing things out of obligation, spending money they dont have just to look good in front of others....etc. If you celebrate than fine with you congradulations. But I really only want to hear from people who do NOT celebrate, who treat this day as any other day. Who share my feelings

i choose to spend christmas alone. i'm estranged from my family and not really close to any people i know to spend the holidays with. in a way it makes me feel like i've escaped myself from the feeling and everything the holidays bring. but i feel free. it feels lke a burden has been lifted off of me. i have no "responsibilities" to anyone, i can truly smile freely and say merry christtmas and really mean it. this is awesome.
i think this will become a permanent part of my life. now i would rather give to other people through kindness and compassion. like do errands for people who can't do it themselves like the elderly, maybe buy a homeless guy ten hot wings from pizza hut, offer to shovel people's driveways, etc. these random kind things help in making this world a better place. but people also do these things all the time. this is nothing special. but at least i'm doing my part and it makes me feel better.
still...i'm spending christmas alone.

I do. I have the same opinion as you. People often relates Christmas to the day when they can spend a lot of money. Less people now treats Christmas as a day when they should help others that perhaps really needs.

I don't have anything to celebrate, my father died on december 7th, a year ago, I live in a rented room, I'm, undocumented, being here so many years and I still don't get it together, to me x-mas is the same thing, if I don't work I can't even eat, I don't buy any gifts for nobody, cause I think is just a fake *** ****, everybody will talk behind you if they don't like the gift, so I really don't care, x-mas is everyday when you share or gift and you are true to yourself and don't hurt nobody.

I don't do holdiays and I'm not a Jehova witness. It's that when you get older and people die in the family you don't feel like celebrating like others.
